Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Introduced in 1964 and positioned between the Cougar pony car and the big Marquis and Marauder models, the Mercury Cyclone served as the division's dedicated muscle car. It replaced the performance‑oriented Comet variant and served as Mercury’s factory racing representative, essentially a counterpart to Ford’s Fairlane Thunderbolt.

As Ford Motor Company’s response to the era’s Tri‑Power GTOs and big‑block Mopars, the second‑generation 1967 Cyclone GT came equipped with a 390ci V8 rated at 320 hp, bright engine dress‑up kit, twin-scoop GT hood, dual exhaust, rally stripes, painted steel wheels with 5½” rims, power front disc brakes, a 3.25:1 rear axle, and a performance handling package.

This Cyclone a highly documented, award‑winning example, having earned Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Junior, AACA Senior, AACA Grand National, AACA Grand National Senior, and the prestigious AACA James Melton Memorial Cup honors. It is refinished in red over a red perforated vinyl cabin with low-back bucket seats. Additional features include a factory tachometer, AM/FM radio, and a period aftermarket Craig Panorama 8-track player.

The 1967 Mercury Cyclone GT is now offered at no reserve in Florida by the selling dealer with a Marti Report, a window sticker, owner’s manual, AACA awards, and a clean Montana title.
