Description
The second-generation Corvette (often called C2) helped establish America’s ability to compete with European sports cars while offering powerful V8 engines, four-wheel independent suspension, and all around performance that redefined expectations for American sports cars. As the final year before the arrival of the C3, Chevrolet used 1967 to refine the Sting Ray to its highest level of development, creating a car that combined dramatic styling, world-class performance, and advanced engineering for its era.
Changes for 1967 included redesigned fender vents with five louvers, revised rocker trim, new rectangular center backup lamps, and all-red taillights. This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was delivered to its first owner at Zepelak Chevrolet in Elmhurst, Illinois, in Rally Red with a red interior. The car was built with a 350hp 327ci V8 and a four-speed manual transmission as well as a Posi-Traction rear end. It also features bucket seats and a removable hard top.
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has been under the same ownership since 1982, when the seller reports they bought it from its original owner, and it was stored from 1983 to 2016. After being removed from storage in 2016, the seller returned the car to its current condition and reports limited use since.
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is now offered with manufacturer's literature, an original sales invoice, removed parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information
Included in the gallery is a summary of parts markings that were recorded by the seller during the 2016 resurrection.
The seller states, "Major components (engine block, intake manifold, carburetor, coolant reservoir, starter motor, alternator, thermostat housing, rear differential, transmission) have correct markings. I have the original purchase invoice, owner's manual, and warranty booklet. I purchased the car from its original owner in 1982, about a year after graduating from college.
"It was used for fun on weekends until it developed a rear main seal leak that I needed to fix but could somehow never find the time. By 1983 life was overfull so I decided to "mothball" the car by putting it up on blocks, pickling the engine cylinders with marine oil, spraying the undercarriage with a fine oil mist to displace moisture, and covering the body with a custom-fit car cover so the car could rest in the garage undisturbed and protected. The Sting Ray slumbered until 2016 when my older brother, who was already rebuilding engines in his teens, offered to help me fix the rear main seal leak and ultimately resurrect the car.
"During the 2016 resurrection, the rear main seal was replaced, brakes were fully rebuilt (new master cylinder, new brake lines, new calipers and pads, resurfaced 3 rotors, replaced 1 rotor), installed new wheel bearings and seals, replaced tires, installed new front link kit." ""The car last had a full service (fluids, tires) when it was resurrected in 2016, but has also been driven less than 1,000mi over the ensuing decade. Engine oil was last changed in 2024. Given that the tires are 10yrs old, they should be considered aged-out. Although a new front link kit w/ urethane donuts was installed as part of the 2016 resurrection, the rest of the suspension (shocks, coils, leaf springs, rubber) hasn't been touched since I purchased the car in 1982." "Although I haven’t uncovered any evidence of collision damage, the paint is not original as evidenced by overspray present on suspension and structural components. It takes a lot of cranking to start when cold. The engine fires up immediately when warm or when restarted within a week. Headlight motors are intermittent and need to be rebuilt or replaced. The passenger door won’t release using the inside lever (it opens fine using the exterior handle button). Seats are believed to be fully original, show signs of ground-in dirt, and lack proper cushioning. Seat belts are also very hard to adjust."
