Description
1967 represented the final model year of the first-generation Chevelle, a standout in the golden era of American muscle cars. The “138” VIN prefix confirmed a true Super Sport (SS) model, distinguishing it from lesser trim levels. Under the hood, the SS 396 came standard with a big-block 396ci V8 engine, available in multiple power outputs.
The Chevelle SS 396 was praised for its balance of power, comfort, and everyday usability. Whether equipped with a Muncie 4-speed as seen here or a Turbo 400 automatic, it delivered thrilling acceleration and a commanding road presence. Today, genuine 138-VIN 1967 Chevelle SS 396s are coveted, representing a timeless symbol of American muscle car performance.
This example is finished with a white pearl metallic paint over a black vinyl bench seat interior and features black chrome American Racing wheels. The 396ci V8 boasts a 325-horsepower badge on the air cleaner; other engine bay appointments include a chrome power steering pump and alternator, power brakes, MSD ignition, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Power is sent through a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. After 12 years under current ownership, this 1967 Chevelle SS 396 is now offered with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller's name.

Additional Information
From the seller: “This 1967 SS true 138 was my dream car. I wanted something different than the typical Chevelle like the ‘68-’72’s. I bought this car from Joliet, IL in 2013. The car was already complete, except for what I had done to the motor and wheels. This has been a great car, that has plenty of horsepower (approximately 550hp) and has been a head turner. I’m only selling to allow someone else to enjoy what I have been the last 12 years!”
