Description
The 1967 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible, part of the Chevelle lineup, marked the final year of the first-generation Chevelle and stood out as a stylish and versatile mid-size offering from Chevrolet. Positioned as a more upscale trim within the Chevelle family, the Malibu Convertible combined sporty design with comfort and practicality, appealing to a broad range of buyers.
Under the hood, the Malibu Convertible came standard with a 283 cubic-inch V8, but buyers could opt for more powerful engines, including the 327 and even the SS 396 in the Super Sport variant. Transmission choices ranged from a three-speed manual to a two-speed Powerglide automatic, with a four-speed manual available for performance enthusiasts.
Stylistically, the 1967 model featured a refined front grille, dual headlights, and a sleek body line that emphasized its long, low profile. Inside, the Malibu offered bucket or bench seats, optional air conditioning, and a range of trim upgrades.
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible received a restoration about 30 years ago and now has numerous paint imperfections. It also received an engine swap and is powered by a 350 cu-in small-block V8. The car can be daily driven, but it will require some work to bring it back to its former glory. It comes with a stock chassis frame that has been sandblasted and primed.

Ownership History
The Massachusetts seller of this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible has owned it since September 2013.
The seller says, “This car had complete paint and bodywork done about 30-35 years ago, and the lower rear quarter panels were patched and bonded over; floors have been patched as well. My plan was to restore the car, so I bought a stock frame that has been sandblasted and primed. As it stands, the car is a 10-footer — looks great from 10 feet, but as you get closer you see that it needs paint and body work. I believe the paint could be lacquer. However, the car runs and drives with its stock drum brakes. It had been in my garage for approximately four years, but recently while it was in my driveway, a branch fell on it, denting the quarter panel and one of the convertible bow supports and tearing the convertible top.”
“I’ve had this car for 13 years and never paid attention to the VIN number; I always thought it was on the left side of the dash behind the windshield. Looking at it now, it seems that at some point the windshield was pulled and some repairs were done, and they molded over the VIN tag. I have looked on the door jamb and do not see a tag.”
