Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

As the old advertisements said: “Wouldn’t you really rather have a Buick?” Like this gentleman’s muscle car, a 1967 Buick GS-400 Sport Coupe. While better known for their big, powerful luxury sedans, the Gran Sport series was based on GM’s A-Body platform like the Chevy Chevelle, Pontiac GTO, and Olds 442. Power in 1967 was by an all new 400 cu-in V8 with free-flowing cylinder heads, a hot hydraulic camshaft, 10.25:1 compression, and a 750-cfm Rochester Quadrajet carburetor protected by the one-year-only “Star Wars” air cleaner. With a distinctively upscale Buick interior and exterior style, just eight percent of GM’s A-Body cars in 1967 were Gran Sports, like this Midnight Blue GS-400 Sport Coupe.

The consigner of this 1967 GS-400 is an enthusiast of cross-country treks on America’s historic roads, and this Buick has been upgraded and carefully maintained with travel in mind. A later-model GM TH-200-4R four-speed overdrive automatic provides reduced engine wear and greater fuel efficiency, while a modern electronic ignition system, Edelbrock carb, and a BeCool radiator ensure reliable travel. It’s journeyed extensively, including a 1,707 mile trip on historic Route 66 from Mesa, Arizona to Wisconsin. Now wouldn’t you really rather have this Buick?
