Description
“Drives like a car, works like a truck.” Ford’s fourth-generation F-100 pickup received a major update for the 1965–66 models. Along with a nice style refresh, they got a new frame, a design that would serve Ford trucks until 1979. The biggest news was up front, Ford’s Twin-I-Beam suspension. Available on two-wheel-drive models, the novel suspension design was aimed directly at noncommercial truck users for its smoother ride yet workhorse dependability. Add to that modern powertrain options up to Ford’s stout 352 cu-in V8, and the ’66 Styleside gained back a good share of the light-duty truck business from Chevrolet.
This ’66 Ford F-100 Styleside is a fresh restoration by The Scout Club LA, in Los Angeles, California. Owner seven-time MMA World Champion Fabiano Iha is passionate about old trucks and International Scouts, and the attention to detail on this Ford shows it. Inside the completely refreshed interior is extensive use of Siless sound deadening. Power is from the largest engine available on the F-100 that year, a 352 cu-in V8 engine with FiTech fuel injection. This 1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Styleside really lives up to the slogan, “Drives like a car, works like a truck.”
