Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The all-new C2 Corvette was simply beautiful on the outside and beautifully designed inside. Debuting in 1963 and available as a coupe or convertible, the C2’s low, wide stance, long nose, and flowing rear was instantly memorable. Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov’s chassis had both strength and a low center of gravity, and was combined with an all-new independent rear suspension with transverse leaf springs and a capable front suspension with good brakes, it provided incredible handling and braking performance. And the driver-centered cockpit offered comfortable seating, informative gauges, and effortless style that rivaled the best European sports cars.
And while there were four engines available in 1966, those who preferred to enjoy a well-balanced Corvette opted for a small-block V8 like the 300-hp L75 327. It loved revving past 5,000 rpm despite its low-maintenance hydraulic cam, and its high compression ratio and four-barrel carb effortlessly launched the lightweight Corvette forward, especially when a four-speed manual was handling the gear changes.
This unrestored and very original1966 Corvette convertible is finished in the original Nassau Blue, wears a color-matched factory hardtop and complementary white convertible top, and is motivated by the 300-hp L75 327 with four-speed manual transmission.
