Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
“New Falcon Futura — luxury touches in a lively compact.” The 1965 Ford Falcon Futura was a stylish and sporty variant of Ford’s compact Falcon line, which had been introduced in 1960 to compete with the growing popularity of smaller, more economical cars. By 1965, the Falcon had undergone a significant redesign, adopting a more squared-off, modern look that aligned with the era’s design trends. The Futura trim stood out with its upscale features, including optional bucket seats, deluxe interior trim, and unique exterior accents.
Under the hood, the 1965 Futura offered a range of engines, from an economical 170 cubic-inch inline-six to a more powerful 289 cu-in V8, catering to both budget-conscious drivers and performance enthusiasts. Transmission options included a three-speed manual, a four-speed manual, and Ford’s two-speed automatic.
The Futura was available in several body styles, including a two-door hardtop, sedan, and convertible, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of buyers. It also served as the platform for the first-generation Ford Mustang, which shared many of its components. Even with the optional 200 cu-in inline-six like in this example the lightweight Futura lived up to Ford’s claim, “Falcon’s got the look of action — and the go to match!”
