Description

In 1964, the Corvette underwent a notable design update that saw the removal of the iconic split rear window and faux hood air intakes from the 1963 Coupe — making the 1964 version unique. Underneath, the suspension received refinements, including variable-rate springs and recalibrated shocks, that enhanced both ride quality and handling.

Powering every Corvette was the potent 327 cubic-inch V8, which was offered in a base 250- and optional 300-, 365-, or 375-horsepower versions. Most buyers opted for the four-speed manual transmission, available in both wide- and close-ratio setups.

The 1964 Corvette catered to both casual weekend drivers and serious performance seekers with a wide variety of options. Comfort and convenience were front and center, with features like air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and numerous exterior colors and interior trims, allowing each Corvette to reflect its owner’s personal style. Sales of America’s sports car climbed to 22,229 units, with the Convertible once again proving to be the most popular choice.

This 1964 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible has been refinished in beautiful dark green with a refreshed black leather interior, and is powered by a rare 365-horsepower 327 from a 1965 Corvette that was equipped with a four-speed manual, air conditioning, and a transistorized ignition system.
