Description
Introduced for the 1961 model year, the fourth-generation Plymouth Belvedere discarded the traditional "Forward Look" tail fins for a dramatic, finless design featuring unique "pod" styling and a rigid unibody platform. Positioned above the Savoy in Plymouth's full-size lineup, this V8-powered sedan combined striking, space-age aesthetics with everyday practicality, making it a powerful and distinctive choice for family transportation in the early ‘60s.
Acquired by the seller in 2023, this 1961 Plymouth Belvedere sedan is powered by a 318ci Poly V8 paired with a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission operated via Chrysler's signature push-button controls. Finished in light metallic blue over white and blue upholstery, the car is said to retain much of its original powertrain, chrome trim, and brightwork.
Since acquiring the car, the seller repainted its body and fitted replacement whitewall tires. The seller noes that the interior was refurbished prior to their acquisition.
This 1961 Plymouth Belvedere sedan is now offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
The seller acquired this Plymouth in 2023.
From the seller: “This Belvedere is powered by its original-style Poly 318 V8 with a push-button transmission and runs, drives, and stops as it should. We regularly take it to local cruise-ins and have no hesitation driving it reasonable distances. While we are not the original owners, the powertrain, chrome trim, and many other components appear to be original.
The interior had reportedly been redone a few years before we purchased the car and remains in very nice condition. We had the car repainted approximately two years ago, and the body presents very well. The whitewall tires were also installed around the same time and have very few miles on them.”
