Founded in early 1925, GM of Brazil began building Chevrolet pickup trucks in the 1950s to support that country’s emerging economy. Hardly a clone of the American version, this South American workhorse was given its own look, with sweeping extended rear fenders and a unique grille treatment. These pickup trucks played such an important role in the rapidly emerging economy of Brazil in the 1960s and ’70s that it was officially called the Chevrolet Brasil, with a map of Brazil incorporated in the vehicle’s front Chevrolet bowtie logo. This Brazilian export retains a 4,100cc OHV inline six-cylinder engine upgraded with electronic ignition and an electric fuel pump. Contrasting with the brilliant yellow paint is a fully reupholstered charcoal vinyl interior with custom carpeting and an aftermarket steering wheel. The driving experience has been enhanced with power front disc brakes, power steering, and Pirelli tires on custom Chevrolet-logo 20 inch aluminum wheels. While a common sight throughout South America for many years, the Chevrolet Brasil pickup is extremely rare in the United States, and this one can’t be missed.
