Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Laying the cornerstone in what would become one of the defining American automotive dynasties, the C1 Corvette introduced the world to Chevrolet's landmark lightweight, svelte sports car platform. Although technically defined as one generation, the C1 encompasses several significant redesigns, with rolling year-to-year changes introducing new front and rear valances, interior updates, and the debut of the iconic two-tone "cove" scallops on either side of the car. By 1961, production on the C1 was winding down and segueing into the more angular and aggressive C2. It served as the last year of the stout 283ci V8, which even in its base form was factory-rated at a respectable 230 horsepower. It was also the first year of the iconic four-taillight rear end, an element of design that remains a staple of the Corvette through all subsequent generations.

This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by a factory 238ci V8, rated at 230 horsepower when new, fed by a single carburetor and mated to a two-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission. Refreshed under previous ownership, the car is finished in one-year-only Jewel Blue (code 912/502) accented with white cove scallops (code 419).

The engine bay retains "Chevy Orange"-finished embossed valve covers, with a chrome air filter housing, and an aluminum radiator. The car now sits on 15" US Royal tires with 2.5" white side walls, which were mounted in September 2025.

This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is now offered at no reserve with an owner's manual, period literature, a car cover, and Georgia registration in the seller's name.
