Description
Introduced as the top model in Studebaker’s Hawk lineup, the 1957 Golden Hawk combined bold styling with formidable power. Its distinctive upright grille, tailfins, and two‑tone paint emphasized Studebaker’s blend of luxurious design and a sporty personality. Although praised for performance, production ended the following model year as Studebaker pivoted to produce more compact, budget-friendly models.
One of 4,356 examples produced for 1957, this Golden Hawk’s factory V8 has been replaced by a 6.2L LS3 V8 that was installed under current ownership and comes mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The body is finished in gold and accented in black, while the interior is upholstered in white vinyl with golden inserts. Additional modifications include a Mustang II-sourced front end and disc brakes, as well as fitting an air conditioning system, uprated power steering pump, high-pressure fuel system, and touch-screen engine management display.
This 1957 Golden Hawk is now offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
