Description
Introduced at the 1954 Geneva Motor Show a month after the race-ready 300SL Gullwing, the Mercedes-Benz 190SL gave the German automaker's lineup a roadster with sweeping Italian-influenced styling and a package better suited to everyday use. Produced through 1963, it remains one of the most elegant and collectible postwar European roadsters ever built.
Owned by the seller for nearly 40 years, this ‘57 190SL is finished in black paired with a black convertible soft top over tan leather interior upholstery. The replacement 1.9L M121 inline-four installed under current ownership features twin Weber carburetors, and it delivers power to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized 4-speed manual transmission.
Additional equipment includes power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes, 13” steel wheels with painted covers, chrome exterior accents, low-back bucket seats, and VDO instrumentation.
This 1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is now offered with a removable hardtop and clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
