The 1957 Lincoln Premiere was a hallmark of mid-century American automotive luxury and design. Positioned as Lincoln’s top-tier offering, the Premiere embodied the brand’s ambition to compete with Cadillac and Imperial in the premium market. It featured bold styling with dramatic tailfins, a wide grille, and lavish chrome accents, reflecting the jet-age influence of the era.
Under the hood, the car was powered by a robust 368 cubic-inch V8 engine, delivering around 300 horsepower, paired with a Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. This combination provided smooth, confident performance, ideal for long-distance cruising. The interior was equally impressive, offering power windows, power seats, and a sophisticated dashboard layout. Upholstery options included high-grade fabrics and leathers, emphasizing comfort and elegance. The Premiere was available in two-door hardtop, four-door sedan, and two-door convertible body styles.
Though overshadowed in exclusivity by the Continental Mark II, the 1957 Lincoln Premiere was more accessible and helped solidify Lincoln’s reputation for style and innovation. Only 3,676 Premiere convertibles were produced in 1957, making this one — previously in the private collection of Lincoln connoisseurs John and Isabell Fischer — both rare and desirable.
