Description
The iconic 1957 Chevrolet is celebrated for its jet-age tailfins, sweeping curves, and distinctive hood-mounted rockets. This landmark vehicle came in a variety of body styles — two- and four-door sedans, convertibles, and station wagons — but the two-door hardtop stood out as the most coveted, especially in the upscale Bel Air trim.
The Bel Air version elevated the car’s style with a pillarless silhouette dressed in gleaming chrome. Gold accents highlighted the front grille, rear trunk lid, and fenders, while ornate wheel covers and bold side strakes featuring gold script and crests added to its prestige. The refined cabin was anchored by a large central speedometer and framed by a stylish steering wheel. The driver controlled an inline-six or a 265- or 283-cu-in V8, paired with either a three-speed manual or two-speed Powerglide automatic. A 1957 Popular Mechanics tester stated, “Chevrolet’s new V8 is smooth, quiet, and packs a wallop. The Bel Air is a car that looks as good as it goes.”
And this restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop really goes, as its classic looks are complemented by a modern LS1 V8 with overdrive, Foose wheels, and a custom leather interior featuring air conditioning and power accessories.

The consignor states, “This ’57 Chevy has flaws in the body and paint that the winning bidder may want to address to bring it to full show form. The LS engine, while powerful, could benefit from further tuning to address the idle and its tendency to run rich.”
