Description

This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 represents a striking fusion of classic British design and modern American performance. Built on a custom chassis and powered by a high-output Chevrolet ZZ4 350 crate engine, this Healey offers a thrilling driving experience while retaining the timeless silhouette of the original BN2 roadster.

The build was executed with meticulous attention to detail using all-new components, including a Chevrolet ZZ4 350 cu-in V8 crate engine, built TH350 automatic transmission, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and Koni adjustable coilovers. A Ford 9-inch rear end ensures durability and performance, while upgraded systems like the high-output alternator and aluminum water pump enhance reliability. The current owner purchased the car from its builder and it's since been driven sparingly.

Highlights

  • Chevrolet ZZ4 350 cu-in V8 crate engine rated at 355 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque

  • TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and Ford 9-inch rear differential

  • High-output alternator, aluminum water pump, and upgraded battery

  • Semi-gloss black paint over black vinyl and cloth upholstery

  • VIN: BN2L230452

    • BN2: Model designation

      • B = Austin engine (4-cylinder)

      • N = 2-seater roadster

      • 2 = Second series of the Austin-Healey 100 (BN2), produced from August 1955 to July 1956

      • L: Left-hand drive (cars without "L" are right-hand drive)

    • 230452: Serial number

      • This number places the car toward the end of BN2 production, which ended around chassis number 230977

Features

  • Custom-built chassis with 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 body

  • Classic wire front wheels and billet drag rear wheels

  • Custom-built roll hoop and chassis-integrated cage

  • JAZ racing buckets with RCI harnesses

  • SW gauges and Autometer tachometer

  • Adjustable Koni coilover suspension

  • Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes

  • Custom raised cowl hood

  • MSD Ignition

  • Fuel cell

 Known Imperfections

  • Fuel gauge only reads full, seller believes a new sending unit would resolve this issue

  • Mileage discrepancy – The seller notes, “I bought it showing 725 miles and now it's at 5,982 [miles]. Actual miles are about 80% of that since the big rear tires throw the reading off.”

Ownership History

The current owner, located in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, acquired the car from its builder and notes it’s, “A great driving car—selling due to my age.”

This Austin Healey is offered with a clean Massachusetts title in the seller's name.
