Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

All-new for 1955, Chrysler’s line of Windsor DeLuxe were the volume stars of their “100-Million-Dollar Look!” advertising campaign. The Windsor DeLuxe embodied the new-look elegance and style of the mid-1950s, featuring a distinctive design with sleek, chrome-accented bodywork, and a profile that was significantly lower and wider than the outgoing model. Under the hood, it was powered by a “Spitfire” Hemi V8 engine that delivered impressive horsepower and torque, making it a favorite among those looking to stretch their legs on America’s new Eisenhower Interstate System. Inside, Windsors boasted a spacious and luxurious interior with comfortable seating and a range of modern amenities for its time, showcasing Chrysler's commitment to both style and comfort innovation.

The Windsor DeLuxe was offered in four different body styles: a six passenger four-door sedan, an Estate Wagon, a Convertible, but none of them had the panache of the sleek two-door Newport Coupe. The New Yorker’s fresh styling appeared as though it was designed with this particular body style in mind. The Newport features prominent chromework from the new “massive” divided grille, down the flanks with tip-to-tail brightwork that subtly incorporates a two-tone livery and rear “Chrysler Windson Deluxe” badging. At the back, there is — naturally — more chrome, with dual reverse lamps and Chrysler‘s famous “Twin-tower” taillights. Rightly proud of their new creation, Chrysler branded their new line of 100-Million-Dollar Look! cars “America’s Most Smartly Different Car.”
