Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Decisively some of the most iconic cars of the 1950s, Chevrolet's massively successful "Tri-Five" models (the coupes and sedans built in 1955, '56, and '57) are still highly sought after and appreciated today. They were available in several trims and body configurations, with each year having its own distinct styling, and the Bel Air package always sitting at the top of the line. While their upscale chrome trim and deluxe interiors are frequently replicated, true Bel Airs are getting harder to find, and often command a premium.
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air four-door sedan was reportedly bought new in Davenport, Washington, before it was purchased by the seller's grandfather in 2002, undergoing a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul while in his care. It has remained with the seller's family in northern Idaho through the decades since, being acquired by the seller this year. Power is delivered by a 265ci "Turbo-Fire" small-block V8 mated to a two-speed automatic transmission. The car features four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes mounted underneath 15-inch steel wheels. The car has been refinished in factory India Ivory over Onyx Black with a grey vinyl and cloth interior.
The seller notes that during the refresh, the glass and the front driver's side fender was replaced. In May of 2026, the car is said to have had an electronic fuel pump installed.
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sedan is now offered at no reserve with receipts from the restoration, a factory owner's manual, and a clean Idaho title in the seller's name.
