Description

The Chevrolet Advance-Design pickup series was introduced for 1947 and remained in production through the first half of the 1955 model year. Widely recognized for its rounded bodywork, integrated fenders, and increased cabin space, the Advance-Design generation represented Chevrolet's postwar approach to light-duty truck design and became one of the brand's most successful truck platforms. For 1954, the Chevrolet 3100 received several updates, including a revised grille design, a one-piece curved windshield, and the 235 cubic-inch Thriftmaster inline-six, which had adopted a full-pressure lubrication system beginning in 1953.

Displacing 235ci, the overhead-valve Thriftmaster six was a fitted with an improved lubrication system for 1954.

This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pickup's Thriftmaster inline-six is paired with a three-speed column-shifted manual transmission. The truck is finished in two-tone Arabian Ivory and Transport Blue, and in 2025 it was reportedly fitted with red oak bed slats and its tires and weatherstripping were replaced. The truck retains a 6-volt electrical system configuration and has been fitted with a single-wire alternator, an 8-volt battery, and an adjusted voltage regulator.

This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup is now offered with service records, a full size matching spare tire, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History

From the seller: “This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pickup remains largely original and is powered by its original 235 cubic-inch inline-six, which was rebuilt, and paired with its original three-speed column-shift manual transmission.

Included with the truck is a folder containing more than 40 years of service records documenting its history and maintenance. Approximately one year ago, the truck underwent a light restoration while retaining its original character. The interior was repainted several years ago and shows some age-related wear, though it remains consistent with the truck's overall presentation.

Nearly all of the glass is original and retains its period patina. The driver's door glass has been replaced. All glass is free of cracks, the windows roll up and down smoothly, and the doors open and close properly. The truck starts easily, runs strong, shifts smoothly, and stops as intended. It is driven regularly and has always been garage kept.”

The Chevy is now offered with a clean Nevada title.
