Description

Produced during Cadillac's postwar golden era, the Series 62 combined Harley Earl styling, advanced engineering, and the smooth performance of Cadillac's new overhead-valve V8 engine. The Series 62 was among Cadillac's most popular models, offering premium appointments, Hydra-Matic automatic transmission technology, and the distinctive styling cues that helped define American luxury automobiles of the early ‘50s.

This 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan is powered by a 331ci OHV V8 paired with a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and is finished in black over a gray cloth interior and an AM radio. It rides on 15-inch steel wheels with chrome covers wrapped in Coker white wall radial tires.

The seller has had the car since 2017, and service during that time has reportedly included replacement of various gaskets and an overhaul of the automatic transmission in 2019.

This 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan is now offered with a shop manual, black Cadillac-embroidered floor mats, and a clean Virginia title in the seller's name.

Ownership History

From the seller: "This Cadillac has a traceable history back to 1950 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. According to the records I received, the car was raffled off as a church fundraiser and won by a priest. It was reportedly driven sparingly and garage kept. After the priest passed away in 1953, the car was sold to a Connecticut collector and eventually crossed the Mecum auction block in Houston, Texas, in 2017. I purchased the car because of its history and originality.

When it arrived from Houston in 2019, I had AAMCO go through the mechanical systems, including service to the seals, gaskets, oil pan, and transmission. I have retained the receipts for that work. Since then, I have handled the oil and filter changes and installed a new set of five Coker whitewall tires in 2025.

I have tried to preserve the car as much as possible, including maintaining the original paint rather than refinishing it."

This 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan is now offered with a clean Virginia title.
