Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1940 Chevrolet Sport Sedan Special Deluxe embodied Chevrolet’s prewar refinement. Introduced amid streamlined “Art Deco” styling, it featured integrated headlights, a broader grille, and flowing fenders that modernized the brand. The Special Deluxe trim sat atop the lineup, offering extra brightwork, upgraded fabrics, hydraulic brakes, and improved sound insulation. The Sport Sedan’s cabin emphasized comfort for families and business travel, with generous rear seating. Production ended as wartime priorities loomed in 1941.
Acquired by the seller 15+ years ago, this 1940 Sport Sedan Special Deluxe is fitted with a 350ci V8 fed by an aftermarket intake manifold and a Holley carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission, and 15” Cragar wheels are mounted over disc brakes up front and drums out back.
The body is refinished in blue and features rear-hinged rear doors, bright trim, and painted bumpers. Inside, two rows of bench seating are upholstered in blue cloth, and an aluminum gauge surround houses VDO instrumentation.
This 1940 Chevrolet Sport Sedan Special Deluxe is now offered at no reserve with a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
