Description
For 1940, the Chevrolet Master Deluxe received a major facelift featuring a distinctive new grille and a restyled hood that gave the car a more aerodynamic appearance than its predecessor. The Business Coupe configuration was similar to the standard Coupe, with a few key differences that targeted a growing audience of traveling sales people. The Business Coupe offered only a front bench seat with a large flat storage shelf or open area behind it instead of a rear seat. This was an affordable and ideal choice for traveling sales representatives and merchants needing extra room to haul samples, luggage, and goods rather than additional passengers.
This 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Business Coupe is finished in a custom two-tone paint job utilizing Chrysler's Wild Berry and Cadillac's Diamond White. It sits on a set of 15" color-keyed wheels wrapped in Coker white wall tires. Under the hood is a 216ci "Stovebolt" inline six-cylinder engine, a later version of the stock Master Deluxe engine, which is mated to a three-speed column-shifted manual transmission. This Chevrolet Master is equipped with an aluminum radiator, dual exhaust, Fenton exhaust headers, and front disc brakes. Inside, the driver is greeted with a custom Chevy bow tie tweed interior and modern VDO instrumentation.
The seller reports that the car has been in their family since 1998 and that the refurbishment work largely occurred in the early 2000s.
This 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Business Coupe is now offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
