Description

Hot rodders have been modifying prewar Ford pickups for decades, drawn to their lightweight construction, simple ladder-frame chassis, and timeless styling. Produced from 1935 through 1941, the Model 50 Ford Pickup remains a popular base for customizing thanks to its distinctive grille design, flowing body lines, and compact proportions, all of which lend themselves well to hot rods.

This modified 1937 Ford Pickup is said to have been customized by a builder on the East Coast, and it is powered by a 350ci Chevrolet V8 said to feature a four-bolt-main block and Vortec cylinder heads paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission with a shift kit. The steel-bodied truck rides on an S&W Performance-built rear chassis over a Mustang II-style front suspension and a solid rear axle with coilovers. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan.

The cab and bed are finished in red with custom pinstriping and, to make room for the gasser-style air scoop and custom exhaust headers, the truck does not have fenders or a hood. Additionally, it features a raised bed floor and a bed-mounted aluminum fuel tank and rear wing, custom taillights, wink mirrors, and staggered aluminum wheels.

The partially unfinished black interior has aftermarket bucket seats, custom door panels, a billet steering wheel, aftermarket gauges, a replacement wiring harness, and three-point seat belts.

This hot rod-style 1937 Ford Pickup is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
