Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

After eighteen years and more than 15,000,000 units of their iconic Model T, Ford would unveil the new Model A in 1927. The Model A was offered with a selection of body styles that would suit almost every taste and purpose from a full-size Fordor Sedan or a sleek two-door Sports Coupe, Ford’s Model A offerings even included a taxicab, truck, and vehicles for commercial use. The model A was the first Ford to be offered with a standard set of driver controls, configured with a conventional clutch, brake, and throttle providing enthusiasts with an incredibly enjoyable and relatable driving experience. When new, power came from an “L-head” inline four-cylinder engine producing around 40 horsepower more that suitable for the period. However, over time, many have been Hot Rodded with an appropriately sized V8. As an incredibly popular option for those interested in an American classic, the Ford Model A enjoys a devoted following – especially in Hot Rod form – eligible for a wide variety of events worldwide.

Ownership History

This 1931 Ford Model A Sport Coupe is noted to have been acquired by the consignor’s father approximately 30 years ago. The consignor relays that under his ownership it was stored in a climate-controlled warehouse when not in use and as an engineer it was enhanced for road use rather than only shows. As a result, it was a well-loved member of the family and a familiar face at cruises over the years.
