Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Huntsville, Alabama — or “Rocket City,” as we know it — is home to NASA rocket-propulsion research and development. This special offering is once again a presentation of the unique, with American Muscle, British class, heavy post war iron, and race cars from multiple platforms all on offer. These cars are ready for blastoff, and all will be launched to new homes and garages as all lots are presented with NO RESERVE.

* * *

The 1930 Model A was a practical, affordable car aimed at the everyday driver and originally featured a 201 cubic-inch inline-four engine. The car’s simple, boxy design made it easy to modify — qualities that would later make it a favorite among hot rod enthusiasts.

After World War II, returning soldiers brought back mechanical skills and a hunger for speed, which led to the rise of hot rodding. The 1930 Ford, with its lightweight body and plentiful availability, became a prime candidate for customization. Builders stripped it down, swapped in powerful V8 engines (often from newer Ford models), and added flashy paint jobs, chopped roofs, and lowered suspensions. These modifications transformed the humble coupe into a symbol of rebellion and creativity.

By the 1950s and '60s, the Ford Model A was a staple at drag strips and car shows and immortalized in magazines and movies, and it remains a beloved icon in the hot rod community. This 1930 hot rod wears a fiberglass body, black paint, large staggered-size tires, and it is powered by a 302 cu-in V8.
