Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1928 Chevrolet National — designated the AB series — represented a significant step forward for Chevrolet as the brand worked to close the gap with Ford's dominant Model A. The National brought a more refined body style, improved mechanical specification, and the upright coach-built character that defined American automobiles of the late 1920s, and the sedan body style offered fully enclosed four-door transportation.

This National Sedan is finished in light green and black two-tone exterior over a light tan cloth interior. The ash wood interior trim— floors, walls, roof, and paneling — was reportedly removed and replaced using period-correct patterned lumber from a Midwest manufacturer holding the original factory patterns, said to have cost over $15,000 in materials.

Under the hood, a 171ci OHV inline-four which sends power to the 21" steel wheels through a 3-speed manual transmission. During the seller's ownership, the radiator, battery, starter, and generator are said to have been replaced, and the carburetor was reportedly overhauled by a period specialist.

This 1928 Chevrolet National Sedan is offered at no reserve with a clean Massachusetts title in the seller's name.
