Description
“An owner of a Hudson, with the prestige of Super-Six quality, realizes its increasing value to himself.” Eight Detroit businessmen formed the company on 20 February 1909, to produce an automobile which would sell for less than $1,000 U.S. By 1918 Hudson was an established marque and had developed numerous innovations for the auto industry, including dual brakes and generator warning lights. Having previously outsourced engines, the Super-Six was the first built by Hudson, with an industry-first patented, balanced crankshaft, plus large-diameter valves, efficient ports, and high for the time 5:1 compression.
A previous owner cared for this beautiful 1918 Hudson Four-Door Limousine for over 40 years, and it remains in mostly original condition. A total of 12,526 Hudson cars were delivered in 1918 in 12 different body styles, but it is thought this may be one of two enclosed limousines built that year. Riding on a 125.5 inch wheelbase this Hudson features a luxurious rear compartment with a roll-down privacy window, privacy blinds, twin passenger grab bars, roll-down windows, vanity compartments, and dome lighting which all add to the prestige of this 1918 Hudson Super-Six Four-Door Limousine.
