Description
The 718 generation Cayman was first introduced in 2017 with major styling updates, modernizing the offering in concert with the 991.2 generation 911. These early 718 models were at first only available with horizontally opposed, turbocharged, 4-cylinder motors – the 2.0L in the base Cayman, and the 2.5L in the Cayman S. While sufficient, enthusiasts quickly longed for the engine that was so crucial to Porsche’s DNA: the naturally-aspirated flat-six. In 2020, Cayman and Boxster models were finally reunited with a 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated, flat-six engine in the form of the new GTS 4.0.
This 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 represents everything right about the modern Cayman formula. Its 394 horsepower, GT4 derived powerplant produces the beloved flat-six exhaust note, aided by the Sport Exhaust system as standard. Mated to a 6-speed manual transaxle, this Cayman is certainly the enthusiast’s choice for spirited driving.
Showing less than 3,300 total miles, this 2022 example features red brake calipers, Sport Chrono Package, button-activated sport exhaust, optional Bose Surround Sound premium audio ($990), aluminum pedals and footrest, and Race-Tex delete. Finished in white over an optional black leather interior ($2,150), this Cayman is also presented with custom red checkered side graphics and center racing stripe.
A copy of its original window sticker notes that the car was delivered new to Beverly Hills Porsche, remaining a California-owned example since. With its naturally aspirated flat-six engine, 6-speed manual gearbox, and low original mileage, this 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 stands as one of the most compelling modern offerings from Porsche, and will no doubt remain as such for years to come.
This low-mile Cayman GTS 4.0 is now represented by a Broad Arrow Specialist with a clean CARFAX history report, a copy of its window sticker, owner's manuals, two keys, and a clean California title in the current owner's name.
