The 2005 Lotus Elise marked the long-awaited return of Lotus to the U.S. market after a 30-year absence. Built on the lightweight Series 2 platform introduced in 2001, the Elise embodied Lotus founder Colin Chapman’s philosophy of “simplify, then add lightness.” Weighing just under 2,000 pounds, its bonded aluminum chassis and composite body panels delivered exceptional rigidity and minimal mass, making it one of the most agile sports cars of its era. 

Acquired by the seller as the second owner 18 years ago, and now showing just under 55k miles, this 2005 Elise is powered by a mid-mounted 1.8-liter Toyota-sourced inline-four with variable valve timing, factory-rated at 190 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle, and the body is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over black leather upholstery. The 16- and 17” alloy wheels are held by double-wishbone suspension, and additional factory features include a black soft top, a leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel, an Alpine CD stereo, and air conditioning. 

This 2005 Lotus Elise is now offered with a clean CARFAX history report, car cover, rain cover, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name that is labeled “Certified Copy.”
