The 1998 Chevrolet Corvette marked the second year of the fifth-generation (C5) Corvette, a major redesign that debuted in 1997. Built on an all-new hydroformed chassis, the C5 offered improved rigidity, handling, and ride quality over its predecessor. Under the hood was the new LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine, producing 345 horsepower and paired with either a four-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. This powertrain delivered impressive performance, with 0–60 mph times under five seconds.

Inside, the Corvette offered a driver-focused cockpit with improved ergonomics and digital-analog instrumentation. Standard features included leather seats, keyless entry, and dual-zone climate control. Motor Trend, which named the C5 Corvette its 1998 Car of the Year, wrote: “In the face of tough international competition, the all-new Chevrolet Corvette has been boldly reinvented, striking an astonishing balance between civility and brute strength, sending ripples through the entire performance-car segment.”

Equipped with the desirable factory six-speed manual transmission, this Torch Red example shows just 86k miles. Modifications are said to be limited to chrome Z06-style wheels, aftermarket exhaust mufflers, a short-throw shifter, and a Pioneer stereo head-unit.
