Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Launched in 1975 as a successor to the iconic E-Type, the XJ-S (later known as the XJS) was designed with a focus on luxury and performance rather than pure sportiness. By 1986, the model had matured significantly, featuring notable improvements in reliability, refinement, and styling.
Under the hood, the 1986 XJ-S retained Jaguar’s powerful 5.3-liter V12 engine, delivering smooth, effortless performance. It was paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, emphasizing comfort and cruising capability. Jaguar also began offering a 3.6-liter inline-six engine in some markets, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, appealing to drivers seeking more engagement.
The XJ-S’s design remained undeniably distinctive, characterized by its long hood, low stance, and flying buttresses. This example was acquired by the seller in 2000 and is refinished in Jaguar Racing Green. The 5.3-liter V12 sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission, and the seating surfaces are upholstered in Savile Grey leather. Additional features include a factory cassette stereo, cruise control, 15” alloy wheels, and burl wood veneer interior trim.
