Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
By the mid-1980s, the Alfa Romeo Spider had evolved from its 1966 Duetto roots into a refined yet spirited sports car. The 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider was part of the Series 3 generation (1982–1989). Under the hood, all 1986 Spiders featured a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four engine. The Series 3 introduced black rubber bumpers and a subtle rear spoiler, aligning with U.S. safety standards while maintaining Italian flair.
This 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider has been registered in California since at least 1991, and has been with its current owner for 21 years. The seller reportedly had it refinished in Rosso Corsa five years ago, and had the seats reupholstered in black with red stitching three years ago. This example has reportedly been kept mechanically unmodified, with equipment including a black convertible top, five-speed manual transmission, manual-wind windows, and a Kenwood stereo head-unit. Additionally, 14" alloy wheels from an earlier Alfa Romeo have been fitted.
This longtime-owned Alfa Romeo is now offered at no reserve with a clean CARFAX history report, car cover, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information
The seller says, “This head-turning Spider is missing its catalytic converter and will not pass a smog test, but it is ideal for an out-of-state buyer, collector, or Alfa Enthusiast looking for a weekend cruiser or restoration-ready classic. I took it for a spin this weekend for pictures and realized the odometer is not working. Also, the gas cap has to be opened from the trunk; the guy wire slipped from the handle. It’s actually better — no one can steal gas.”
Due to the missing catalytic converter on this 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider, it may not pass emissions testing in some areas. As always, bidders are responsible for confirming all registration and emissions requirements in their state before placing a bid.
