Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1984 Chevrolet Corvette was a landmark model that introduced the fourth generation (C4) of America’s iconic sports car with a radically new design focused on aerodynamics, technology, and performance. Its sleek, wedge-shaped body featured flush-mounted glass, concealed headlights, and a large rear hatch for improved cargo access.
Power came from a 5.7-liter L83 V8 with Cross-Fire Injection, producing 205 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. The engine was mated to either a 700R4 automatic or the innovative “4+3” Doug Nash manual transmission, which combined a four-speed gearbox with automatic overdrive in the top three gears.
Inside, the Corvette featured a futuristic digital dashboard with LCD displays and a driver-focused cockpit. Car and Driver in a 1984 road test enthused, “It is hands-down the fastest American automobile, capable of 140-mph top speeds, 0-to-60 times under seven seconds, and 15.2-second quarter-mile forays at 90 mph. In fact, these figures qualify the Corvette as one of the half-dozen fastest production automobiles in the entire world!”
