Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
In surveying owners of the Jeep CJ series and International Harvester Scout, Ford found consumers valued their vehicle’s off-road capabilities but missed cabin comforts and highway road manners. Ford answered consumers and entered the sports utility vehicle market by debuting the Bronco in the 1966 model year. Available in three body styles: open-air Roadster, two-door Sports Utility, and three-door Wagon, the early SUV offered buyers a range of configurations. The Wagon and Sport Utility versions offered additional flexibility with features like removable hardtops and doors.
The 1973 Bronco Wagon was powered by a 302 cubic-inch V8 and featured three-speed manual or automatic transmissions, a through-drive two-speed transfer case, Mono-Beam front suspension, folding windshield, steel doors with roll-up windows, as well as a heater and defroster - making good on Ford’s promise of a vehicle ready to do “what you want to do … where you want to do it.”
This Ford Bronco Wagon wears a Bimini top and underwent a refurbishment that included fitting a Blueprint Racing 302 cu-in V8, refinishing the body in grey, upgrading the suspension and braking components, and installing front bucket and rear bench seats upholstered in white leather.
