Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Volkswagen introduced the Type 2 model in 1950 to answer the need for a spacious and versatile vehicle. Who knew it would become a lifestyle? Derived from the Type 1 Beetle, the Type 2 Transporter (or “Kombi”) was built in a myriad of body styles: van, pickup truck, and passenger “Microbus.” The VW Type 2 received a major upgrade in 1968, and by ’72 the Microbus was now known as the "Station Wagon". These seven- and nine-passenger people movers were still unique vehicles in the United States, with the first Chrysler minivans still 12 years in the future. Motor Trend magazine called the Microbus, “more of a way of life than just another car...”
This 1972 Station Wagon has reportedly been refurbished throughout. It’s been upgraded with custom rear seating and storage compartments. The seller states that it was repainted “close to original color” with a matching-color interior and mechanically refurbished with a rebuilt engine, transmission, front end, and new CV joints. It’s ready to continue its cherished lifestyle.
This refurbished and upgraded Type 2 is now offered at no reserve with miscellaneous extra parts, service records, and a rebuilt Nevada title in the seller's name.
