Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu represented the height of American muscle car styling and versatility. For 1971, the Chevelle received a refreshed look with a new grille design, single-unit parking lights, and minor trim updates. Engine options ranged from efficient six-cylinders to powerful V8s, though compression ratios dropped slightly to meet new emissions standards. Despite these changes, the Chevelle remained a favorite for its bold design, strong performance, and everyday usability—an enduring icon of the muscle car era before regulations reshaped the market.
Repainted black with white racing stripes paired with a re-trimmed black vinyl bucket seat interior, this 1971 example has been built as a tribute to the factory SS model. Powered comes from a replacement 396ci V8 enhanced with a 508 camshaft, upgraded lifters, roller rockers, and a four-barrel 650 Holley carburetor. Power is sent to a 12-bolt rear end through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Added front disc brakes improve drivability, while the car retains its classic 1970s SS-style appearance.
This 1971 Chevelle SS tribute is now offered by a dealer with a factory owner's manual and clean Michigan title.
