The 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, or SS 396 as it is known to enthusiasts, marked the triumphant finale of the Chevelle’s first generation and stands today as one of the era’s most iconic muscle cars. After beginning as an upgrade package, the SS evolved into a distinct performance model by 1967, immediately recognizable by its blackout grille, twin‑scoop hood, and confident SS emblems. Its legend, however, lived beneath the hood. Every true ’67 SS carried Chevrolet’s big‑block 396‑cid V8, factory‑rated at 325, 350, or a fierce 375 horsepower, backed by heavy‑duty suspension, and power front disc brakes.
Styling refinements gave the ’67 a more sculpted profile, wraparound grille, and a cleaner, more upscale interior, making it both aggressive and refined—a fitting finale before the Chevelle’s redesign for 1968. As the last of the original A‑body SS models, it became a bridge between early muscle‑car simplicity and the escalating performance wars to come.
This '68 Chevelle is a 138‑code SS that retains a numbers-matching L35-code 396ci V8 engine rated at 325 hp and backed by a Turbo-Hydramatic TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 12‑bolt rear end. It’s finished in Granada Gold paint with black pinstripe over a gold bench‑seat interior with tach, auxiliary gauges, and AM/FM radio.
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is now offered with a clean Florida title by the selling dealer.
