Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 marked a significant evolution in Ford’s full-size lineup. Introduced with a new “slab-sided” design and stacked headlights, it reflected the era’s bold styling trends. Built on Ford’s revised full-size platform, the Galaxie offered improved ride quality and handling, thanks to a stronger frame and refined suspension. Buyers could select from a wide range of powerplants, from the dependable 289ci V8 to the high-performance 427ci V8 for enthusiasts seeking maximum muscle. Positioned as a stylish yet practical option, the Galaxie 500 combined comfort, space, and power, making it a favorite among American families and muscle car fans alike.

Finished in turquoise with a black vinyl bench-seat interior, this 1965 Galaxie 500 shows signs of prior refreshing and was originally fitted with a 352ci V8 engine. It now features a powerful 390ci V8 with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, Hooker long tube headers, and more as detailed below. Power is sent rearward through an automatic transmission.

Additional Information

From the seller, “This car was a cherished bucket-list purchase my husband fulfilled through Mecum auction. He was only able to enjoy driving it a handful of times and take it to a few car shows before he became too ill and passed away shortly after, so the car has been garaged from day one and very lightly driven.”
