Description

The 1963 Chevy II was part of Chevrolet’s compact car lineup, and was built to battle the Ford Falcon. Utilizing GM’s X-body platform, the Chevy II wore clean, boxy styling, and rode on an independent coil spring suspension in the front and a live leaf spring suspension in the rear, which provided a comfortable ride.

In 1963 the 100 series was the base trim level, and it emphasized affordability, practicality, and efficiency with minimal chrome, basic interior appointments, four- and six-cylinder engines, and a curb weight of only 2,600 pounds. The Chevy II’s lightweight construction and handsome styling made it popular among budget-conscious buyers and hot rodders alike, laying the groundwork for the later, V8-powered Nova performance variants.

This custom 1963 Chevy II is low, clean, and mean. It’s powered by a modified 350 cu-in V8, and attacks the curves with an aftermarket front clip, coilover shocks, and front disc brakes. The updated interior features aftermarket gauges and air conditioning, and it’s been refinished in an all-business shade of gray.

Ownership History

The Ohio seller of this 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II has owned it since December 2012. The consignor states, “Handles like a dream and looks great, it could use new exhaust if you don’t like it loud. The original mileage showed 38,212 when I replaced all the wiring and electronics, including the Dakota Digital dash. The new mileage is at 86.”

“Retirement gave me the time to begin the build. I worked with local professionals for paint and bodywork. The engine was built by a local legend in our area that I have known for years.”
