Description
Ford’s second-generation F-Series, produced from 1953 to 1956, marked a pivotal shift in the evolution of the American pickup truck. With a focus on driver comfort and usability, Ford introduced the “Driver Engineered” cab—an innovation based on ergonomic studies that prioritized visibility, control placement, and ride quality. The 1956 model year, the final and most refined of the generation, featured a unique wraparound windshield, vertical A-pillars, and a one-year-only grille design, making it a favorite among collectors and customizers alike. While originally offered with a range of Y-block V8s and manual transmissions, the F-100’s rugged chassis and timeless styling have made it a popular platform for restomod builds and off-road conversions.
This particular 1956 Ford F-100 began life as a two-wheel-drive, Y-block-powered pickup but has since received significant modifications. Under prior ownership, it was repainted in deep maroon metallic and converted to four-wheel drive with the installation of a Mopar 400ci V8, a four-speed manual transmission, and a dual-range transfer case. Additional upgrades include Cragar S/S wheels, a wood-lined bed with a flush-mounted fuel filler, and a red velour interior featuring a tilting steering column. Acquired by the seller in 2023, this modified F-100 is now offered with a Conditional Georgia title in the seller’s name.
