Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Thoroughly updated for 1941, the Ford De Luxe was advertised as an affordable car offered ‘at the Ford price that was much more comparable to other higher-priced cars. Promising customers a smooth ride, a large interior, and a completely new design, World War II would mean that very few of these early iterations were produced as much of the production capabilities of the mighty Ford Motor Company were diverted to wartime efforts. In addition to World War II affecting production, 1941 models were further scarce due to a sudden labor strike and as a result, remain some of the most difficult-to-find, yet instantly recognizable pre-war Fords due to their beautiful three-part front grille.
The pickup truck in 1941, with the combined conflicts of World War II and the labor strike, continued using 1940 standard Ford styling, lacking the three-part grille. Again, production was disrupted by a sudden labor strike in April. Henry Ford resisted the unionization of his workers again but finally gave in and signed a contract with UAW.
It’s nearly a historic miracle the 1941 Ford Pickup was ever made, but this one survived and was custom built to modern-day performance. Powered by a 350 cu-in V8, custom interior and the wood bed combine the best of the past, with the luxuries of today, capturing the true spirit of a restomod.
