Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Rather than updating the Model A, which debuted in late 1927, Ford launched a completely new vehicle in 1932. The 1932 may refer to three models: the Model B, the Model 18 and the Model 40, all successors of the Model A. The Model B had an updated four-cylinder engine, the Model 18 was the first Ford featuring the famed flathead-V8, and the Model 40 featured the famed flathead in 1933 and 1934.
The Model B shared frame, body and most of the trim as the higher trims. Body styles available were Standard or Deluxe, with the three-window coupe available only as a Deluxe. Following World War II, the hot rod community began to grow as veterans returned home seeking outlets for speed. The “deuce coupe” referring to the two in 1932, became a popular fixture within the community.
What was originally a 1932 Deluxe Model B, this Custom one of 200 new bodies built by Hot Rods and Horsepower has far exceeded the imagination and performance of Ford engineers and builders in 1932. Featuring a 383 cu-in stoker engine producing an estimated 450 horsepower paired to a five-speed Tremec transmission, front disc brakes and limited-slip differential, this car blasts into the 21st century.
