Description
Richard McAdam, known as “Doc” to his friends and family, epitomizes "work hard, play hard." Born and raised in rural Appalachia, Doc went on to become a renowned neurosurgeon in Virginia. Patients could regularly find Doc pulling into the hospital parking lot in one of his beloved Cobras or high-performance Mustangs. These cars were driven and enjoyed by Doc through the years, taking his family on back road joyrides on sunny day commutes. Hagerty Marketplace is honored to present the Doc McAdam Collection, offered entirely without reserve.

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
From 1980s fuel-injected 5.0 performance to 1990s high-tech four-valve Cobras, Mustang engines have always punched above their weight class. But in 2015, rumblings out of Detroit spoke of a new naturally aspirated powerplant to rule them all. Its code name? Voodoo. Displacing 5.2L and possessing an exotic flat-plane crankshaft, this hand-built V8 made a stunning 526 horsepower, and revved to a screaming 8250-rpm redline.
The Voodoo-powered Mustang Shelby GT350 was set up to dominate on ramps and road courses alike: Its aerodynamic body wore a low-lift front end featuring a sculpted fascia, and a front splitter with vertical winglets that efficiently flowed air around the body. Combined with wider aluminum fenders, a lower aluminum hood with an air extractor, and a unique rear diffuser, the GT350’s design was both highly effective, and incredibly beautiful.
It rode on a chassis offering incredible torsional stiffness, which allowed the unique, lightweight suspension utilizing electronically controlled MagneRide shocks to do its job. What a job it did: Enthralled Car and Driver testers exclaimed, “The GT350 clicked off a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.2 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 12.4 at 118 mph…The 70-to-0 panic stop took 153 feet…and on the skidpad, the Mustang’s lateral adhesion measured 1.02 g. Today’s Mustang is a special car. But the Shelby GT350 has the Voodoo, and it is magical.”
This example is finished in Oxford White with contrasting black 19” wheels and Ebony leather upholstery, with the odometer showing approximately 14,550 miles. It is one of only 6,173 GT350s built in 2017, and has been optioned with a Blue racing stripe and the Convenience Package.
This 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist with owner’s manuals and a Shelby GT350 supplement, a stock gas cap and oil filter, original order paperwork, a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
