Description

When Carroll Shelby went after Ferrari for the 1965 FIA World Championship, he had six Daytona Coupes built on 289 Cobra chassis. The plan succeeded, as Shelby won the championship. Today, young designer Peter Brock’s Daytona Coupes are also considered some of the most beautiful racers ever. 

Those six original Shelby Daytona Coupes are now worth millions each, but the Factory Five Type 65 Coupe makes these historic cars accessible. Factory Five started making Daytona Coupe replicas in 1999 but beginning in 2016 they released their Gen 3 version with increased performance, increased cockpit space, and improved body shape on an all-new modern spaceframe. This Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe was delivered as a complete kit to long time FFR builder Wayne Presley at Very Cool Parts in Enterprise, Alabama. It features a black powder coated chassis, body cut outs, standard width front lower control arms, Coupe nose scoops, front and rear sway bars, and 2015 Mustang differential and rear spindles. Power is by a Ford 347 cu-in Small Block V8 with Holley Sniper fuel injection and a T5 five-speed manual. This low-mile Daytona Coupe replica is the best of 1965 and today.
