Volvos are famous for their excellent reliability, critical since these automobile often travel above the Arctic Circle in their native Scandinavia where breakdowns can be life-threatening. This Mystic Silver Metallic 2012 Volvo has been owned from new by Ramsey Potts, Senior Car Specialist for Hagerty Marketplace and Broad Arrow Auctions. It was purchased at Volvo Cars Savannah in Georgia via overseas delivery. Ramsey travels thousands of miles each year on business, many of those at the wheel of this C70 Convertible. Reliability and comfort are critical for him, and “Volvos have the most comfortable seats of any automobile,” he believes.
Under the hood, the C70 offers a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine producing 227 horsepower. Ramsey had the dealer install the factory Polestar upgrade, which increased horsepower to 250 and torque to 273 lb-ft. “It really made a difference,” Ramsey reports. “I have the certificate from the factory and still have the install template for the Polestar emblem the dealer let me put on myself.” The five-cylinder’s distinctive growl adds a unique touch of character.
That comfortable interior finished in Cranberry leather features aluminum trim and sculpted wood accents. The three-piece hardtop system engineered by Webasto and built by Pininfarina in Sweden, folds away in 30 seconds to transform the coupe into open-air cruiser.
Reaching the half-million mile mark required regular oil changes every 7,500 miles and following the factory maintenance schedule.

The seller states, “Not much ever really went wrong because I followed the factory recommendations for all service. At this point, every single wear item has been replaced with factory OEM parts at least a few times. It's had four windshields, all Volvo OEM with the factory markings. Even the wiper blades say "Volvo" — they're almost $100, but I always wanted OEM parts. My spreadsheet was just a tracker to tell me the mileage for each oil change. I made that because the factory service manual only went to 250,000 miles!”
“The rearview mirror auto-dim system failed, and I couldn't get an OEM part to repair it. It had a clear bra (I put a new one on at 250,000 miles) on the full nose and all the way around the perimeter of the lower body, up the A-pillars, and across the top window bar. Those were removed for the sale, and the paint looks amazing.”
“I had window tint installed before the car had 1,000 miles, and it remains in place. Virtually every document and trinket that came with the car from the factory is included — I kept everything Volvo gave you, and it all goes with the car, even all my original bills of sale.”
