Description

As Carroll Shelby finished production on his AC Ace-based 289 AC Cobra, he was tasked with his largest project ever: produce a beefed-up version of the Ford Mustang and deliver a high-performance sports car variant to the hottest car in America. The Shelby GT350 was born.

Forty-five years later, Ford honored the racing heritage and performance pedigree with its 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. These cars were based on the Ford Mustang GT and were upgraded with a supercharged 5.0L V8 engine, Ford Racing-tuned suspension, Baer brakes, Shelby body kit and Performance White exterior with hand-painted Guardsman Blue stripes. The Shelby body kit featured a new front fascia, splitter and hood scoop, and was complimented by 19-inch Cragar wheels. Shelby included A-pillar mounted AutoMeter gauges for boost, fuel pressure and oil pressure. Shleby American offered a special R-Tune model, tuning the GT350 for 91 Octone producing a reported 624 horsepower. This is one of the 14 2011 Shelby American R-Tuned GT350s, as confirmed by Shelby American.
