In 2007, Carroll Shelby’s legacy of high-performance pony cars entered a new era with the Mustang Shelby GT. Based on the fifth-generation Mustang GT, it shared its roots with the limited 2006 Hertz-only GT-H. Each car began life at Ford’s Flat Rock, Michigan assembly plant before being shipped to Shelby’s Las Vegas facility for transformation.

At Shelby, the GT received a comprehensive performance upgrade designed to sharpen both acceleration and handling while enhancing its presence. Engine improvements included a cold air intake, high-flow exhaust, and recalibrated ECU. Suspension upgrades featured stiffer shocks and struts, revised stabilizer bars, and springs that lowered the car by 1.5 inches.

Visually, the Shelby GT stood apart with Black or White paint accented by silver stripes, a brushed aluminum grille, hood scoop, and 18-inch wheels. Output increased modestly by 19 horsepower, but the 3.55:1 rear axle delivered noticeably stronger real-world performance.

A total of 5,651 coupes were produced. This example, sold new in Illinois, now shows just 6,800 miles and a later-added Cevini C series body kit with side exhaust.

This 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT is now offered by the selling dealer with owner’s manual, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean New Jersey title.
