Description
The 2005 Aston Martin DB9 marked a key moment for the brand, introducing a new era of design, engineering, and manufacturing. Unveiled in 2003 and entering production for the 2005 model year, the DB9 was the first model built at Aston Martin’s state‑of‑the‑art Gaydon facility. It also debuted the company’s innovative VH (Vertical/Horizontal) architecture, a lightweight bonded‑aluminum structure that greatly improved rigidity and performance while reducing complexity across future models.
Styled by Henrik Fisker, the DB9 combined classic Aston Martin proportions with modern surfacing, creating one of the most acclaimed GT designs of its time. Under its long hood sat a hand‑assembled 6.0‑liter V12 producing 450 horsepower, delivering effortless acceleration and a top speed near 190 mph. The DB9 was offered as both a coupe and the Volante convertible, each emphasizing a blend of luxury and sporting character.
The interior showcased high craftsmanship, featuring hand‑stitched leather, real wood, and a minimalist center stack. More than just a replacement for the DB7, the 2005 DB9 established the engineering foundation and design language that Car and Driver exclaimed, “This is the best-sorted, most thoroughly engineered Aston Martin of all time.”
This first-year DB9 is finished in Midnight Blue over a Caspian Blue leather interior, a striking and unusual combination. Service in the Spring of 2025 included replacement of the water pump, belt tensioner, and serpentine belt, as well as various fluids. It now shows just under 30,000 miles.
This 2005 Aston Martin DB9 is offered by the selling dealer with an owner's manual, a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
