Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Chevrolet SSR ("Super Sport Roadster") was a bold experiment in retro-modern design when it debuted as a late‑2003 model. Drawing inspiration from Chevrolet’s 1947–55 Advance Design pickups, it combined a steel retractable hardtop convertible roof and sleek roadster aesthetics with the utility of a pickup bed — all built on GM’s shortened GMT368 body‑on‑frame platform.
The 2004 SSR retained its 5.3-liter Vortec V8, producing around 300 horsepower, mated to a four‑speed automatic, which yielded respectable performance (0-60 mph in 7.7 seconds). Inside, the cabin offered leather sport seats and hidden audio controls.
Despite being featured as the 2003 Indy 500 pace car, sales of the 2004 model fell short of expectations, with fewer than 9,000 units sold. Nevertheless, its distinctive blend of nostalgic styling, convertible fun, and pickup practicality ensured it became a memorable icon in GM’s early-2000s lineup.
This one-owner Redline Red 2004 SSR shows 62,500 original miles and has reportedly been kept stock throughout. It is now represented by a Broad Arrow Specialist at no reserve with a CARFAX history report and a clean Georgia title.
